CNLC successfully finished 1st XRMI TPL in Oman Project

On November 18th, CNLC successfully finished the first Micro-Image Toolpusher Logging (L-620h1) with transnormal horizontal interval (1200m) in Shell's PDO project. This is a first not only for CNLC, but in Chinese logging history in general. It will thus provide valuable experience for the Micro-Image TPL job.
During this project, CNLC field engineers overcame many difficulties. These included the long horizontal interval which can easily cause instruments to get stuck in the well and can also enhance the risk of the cable being damaged. After over 40 hours of work, they finally finished 1200m Micro-Image horizontal logging interval. The project staff quickly transferred the data and then immediately interpreted it. The engineers ultimately received high praise from PDO for successfully carrying out the first Micro-Image TPL.
L-620h1 is a water injection well included in GWDC project in Lekhwair PDO. It is also the first Micro-Image logging done in the Lekhwair Cluster. No horizontal Micro-Image logging such as 1200m long had been previously carried out by CNLC in this or any other area (no has it been in the history of the Chinese logging industry). Since CNLC did not have any past experience to draw from, both operation and interpretation of this job required a high degree of cooperation and caution.
CNLC OMAN project began with the selection of personnel and equipment. Field engineers were assigned to perform each procedure of the horizontal well operation program, and they and the drilling crew cooperated perfectly. The operators were well-chosen and they checked both master and backup tools before the job started so that all the tools were in good working condition. Effective and thoughtful team-work made this operation a big success.
Successfully carrying out this very difficult wire-line logging operation clearly demonstrated that CNLC is continuously developing its professional technology and integrated technical service ability.
